Kansas City, MO, United States — July 23, 2026 — With just four days remaining until its opening, the 2026 AAEA Annual Meeting at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown is now operating under its on-site registration rates, which began on July 21, 2026.
Focus on Economic Foundations of Food Systems
The Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA) Annual Meeting serves as a key event for professionals in agricultural and broadly related fields of applied economics. The AAEA, a not-for-profit association, aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of economists who address critical challenges in areas such as agricultural, development, environmental, food and consumer, natural resource, regional, and rural economics. This focus directly underpins discussions around sustainable sourcing, food security, and the economic viability of new agritech solutions, topics of increasing importance from the farm to the restaurant table.
Diverse Audience and Comprehensive Program
The event is designed for a wide array of participants, including professionals and students from academic, government, industry, and not-for-profit organizations engaged in teaching, research, and extension/outreach activities. Specific groups like Graduate Students and Early Career Professionals will present papers and posters. Undergraduate students from across the United States and Canada will also participate in the SS-AAEA program. The schedule is packed with concurrent programs and events, including the AAEA's Annual Business Meeting, the Awards, Fellows, & Appreciation Club Recognition Ceremony, the 2026 FAMPS Poster Competition, and Selected Presentations covering Lightning, Papers & Posters. Attendees can also participate in Track Sessions, Section Business Meetings & Events, and an Undergraduate Recruitment Fair.
