Brussels Takes Center Stage for Sustainable Sourcing
The Future Fabrics Expo, operating since 2011, is set to run from June 24 to 25. The shift to Brussels positions the event at the heart of European policy, offering immediate value for brands navigating increasingly stringent compliance requirements. Organized by The Sustainable Angle, a non-profit established in Switzerland in 2010, the expo will connect innovators with brands. Materials and Circularity on the Floor
Attendees, including designers, buyers, and brand strategists, will explore two core exhibit sectors. The Sustainable Fibres and Materials Innovation area will feature developments like mycelium-based leather alternatives, algae-derived fabrics, and yarns that integrate captured CO₂. The Circularity and Advanced Textile Technologies sector will highlight solutions nearing commercial viability, including advanced recycling technologies from the co-located Textiles Recycling Expo. Dedicated zones such as the Innovation Hub, Footwear Hub, and a specialized Regenerative Agriculture Area will underscore the focus on next-generation materials and processes.
Scale and Insights for Retail Professionals
The FFE has consistently grown in influence; the 2025 London edition attracted over 2,000 visitors and more than 150 exhibitors. A notable milestone was the 10th edition in 2022, which showcased 10,000 textiles from over 220 suppliers. Earlier, the 7th edition displayed 5,000 sustainable materials from 150 global textile suppliers. The 2026 event will also feature a Seminar Series with panel discussions on topics like decarbonizing supply chains, alongside side events in collaboration with Fashion for Good.
