Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — July 28, 2026 — ARCHIDEX - Architecture, Interior Design & Building, Asia's Leading Architecture Business Event, is set to open tomorrow, July 29, 2026, at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur. This 25th anniversary edition will feature a contiguous 38,000m² trading floor, representing a 20% expansion in exhibition space. The event anticipates approximately 900 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions, targeting 40,000 visitors from Malaysia and beyond.

Expanded Scope for 25th Anniversary Edition

Established in 2000, ARCHIDEX 2026 marks a quarter-century as a pivotal platform for the architecture and building industry. Jointly organized as part of the Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival (KLAF), the event integrates a strategic trade exhibition with the concurrent DATUM architectural conference. The single-floor layout at MITEC is designed to streamline visitor experience and accommodate larger pavilions and industrial demonstrations.

Core Sectors and Technological Integration

The exhibition will feature two primary exhibit sectors: Building Materials & Systems and Future City, Smart Systems & Technologies. Building Materials & Systems will showcase products including audiovisual and lighting technologies, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Industrialized Building Systems (IBS), and sustainable materials such as aluminum and timber. The Future City, Smart Systems & Technologies sector will focus on advanced technologies, with the "Digital @ Archidex" zone specifically highlighting BIM, AI-driven design, smart buildings, and Proptech solutions. Innovations like smart fenestration systems and magnetic concrete will be presented.

Organizers, Past Performance, and Program Highlights

ARCHIDEX is jointly organized by Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM), also known as the Malaysian Institute of Architects, and C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd, established in 1994. Past editions demonstrate significant scale; the 2023 edition attracted 38,203 visitors from 15 countries and featured 600 exhibitors across 1,400 exhibition stands, generating an estimated RM1.15 billion in business transactions. The 2025 edition, which expanded to a dual-venue format, reported 50,668 visitors from 110 countries and regions, with over 850 exhibitors from 12 countries and 6 international pavilions, targeting RM1.4 billion in business and investment opportunities.

Beyond the exhibition floor, the program includes business matchmaking sessions, networking opportunities, and awards ceremonies. Dedicated thematic zones will include "World of Works (WoW)" for future workplace environments, "FENESTEX" for advanced façade, window, and glass systems, and "A Hospitality Awakening (AHA)" for hotel and hospitality design. Social events such as ARCHIDEX Nite and the ARCHITALENT competition for architecture students are also scheduled. The event is integrated with the Kuala Lumpur Architecture Week (KLAW).
